Will adding new pedals to my pedalboard change the sound?
Question:
I currently have an Boss Tuner into a Cry baby wah into Ibanez TS-9 Tube Screamer in to my amp. Will adding a Boss Super Chorus and then a Boss DD-7 Delay after the other three change the sound? If so can I shorten some of the cables? Will that help? I don't want to loose the sounds I have now but I want to put these pedals on.
Answer:
Everything you do to your set up will alter your sound to some degree. One example is the order of your pedals, another is the quality and length of your cables. I think it is (super guitarist) Eric Johnsen who said he even could hear difference in the batteries he used in his pedals...
The Boss pedals don't have true bypass (usually only more expensive pedals have this), meaning the signal will pass through the circuit even though the pedal is switch off.
Really, the only way to find out for sure is to test adding other stuff on your own set up. If it sounds OK, then it is OK
